About

Welcome to A Vast Minority, a blog dedicated to resourcing and connecting those in search of alternative ways of thinking and behaving in an age of disorganised religion, in an age which some call ‘after Christendom’.

For over 50 years the London Mennonite Centre has been a physical resource and spiritual home to many from the Mennonite and other anabaptist traditions across Britain.  These historical traditions, birthed on the margins of society in the 16th Century have been advocating alternative ways of thinking and behaving ever since.

In August 2011 the centre closed and began a journey to find a new physical ‘home’.  We hope that this blog will offer a simple virtual ‘home’ enabling those already connected with the London Mennonite Centre a chance to sojourn together as we travel towards a new physical resource centre.

We also hope this blog might provide opportunity for those who have never heard of the London Mennonite Centre to connect with these rich traditions which have so much to offer in an age of disorganised religion, in an age when followers of Jesus often find themselves on the margins of society and find their Christ-centred behaviour confusing to many, even the religious.

In partnership with like-minded groups such as the Anabaptist Network, we hope we can resource one another as we seek to follow the way of Christ.

Those from these traditions may be a minority but we have a vast heritage and a distinctive contribution to make.

We hope you can join us on the adventure!
